Get Involved
There are dozens of different ways to get involved at St. Paul’s, from preparing food for the hungry to volunteering in the parish office. No matter what your talents and interests, you will find a group, ministry, or mission where you can become part of the life of the parish.

Take a Class: St. Paul’s offers a variety of Christian formation opportunities ranging from Bible studies to weekly seminars. All of them will help you deepen your Christian life while meeting other parishioners and learning more about the parish. Click here to learn more about Christian formation.
Join a Group: St. Paul’s is home to many smaller communities within the larger parish family. In these groups we find fellowship, friendship, and mutual support in the Christian life. These small groups complement the life of the parish as a whole. Click here to learn more about parish communities.
Help the Needy: St. Paul’s strives to fulfill the second of Our Lord’s
Great Commandments, “Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.” The Commission on Mission supports outreach to the poor and needy both in D.C. and abroad, while Pastoral Care fulfils our duty as members of the parish to care about and for one another. In particular, Grate Patrol is a mission unique to Saint Paul’s Parish that has provided uninterrupted weekend breakfast distribution to the homeless for 29 years. Grate Patrol serves Foggy Bottom between Georgetown and the Canadian Embassy near the National Gallery of Art. In cold weather, many of the people whom we serve sleep outside on heating grates, hence the name of the program. Click here to learn more or get involved.

Make the Parish Run: Everything we do at St. Paul’s—daily worship, welcoming visitors, arranging flowers, coffee hours and festive receptions, and even office administration—is made possible by countless hours of volunteer labor. The varied ministries of the parish offer everyone an opportunity to get involved, no matter what talents or gifts one brings. Click here to learn more about parish ministries.
