Parish Communities

St. Paul’s is home to many smaller communities within the larger parish family. In these groups we find fellowship, friendship, and mutual support in the Christian life.  These small groups complement the life of the parish as a whole.

College Ministry: Canterbury

St. Paul’s is located adjacent to The George Washington University and a short trip from Georgetown University, American University, and other institutions of higher learning in the District and the surrounding area. We welcome and value the participation of college students in all areas of our parish life.

Canterbury is our fellowship group for students, and an official student organization on the GWU campus. Join us to meet new friends and explore a spiritual perspective on life and issues we all face. For more information, contact Fr. Nathan Humphrey at Humphrey@StPauls-KSt.com or call 202-337-2020, ext. 11.

St. Paul's is also a part of the Episcopal Chaplaincy at The George Washington University, a partnering ministry of nearby churches and the Diocese of Washington.

Young Adults: Carpe Deum

We meet at 7pm after Evensong & Benediction on Sundays. Every other month we work together to help prepare St. Paul’s monthly meal for the homeless. We also sponsor occasional social outings to sporting events, movies, other parishes, and concerts. For more information, please join our e-mail list to get updates on our activities, or contact Sarah Zygmunt at sarah.zygmunt@gmail.com.

Newly Married: Fidelitas

Fidelitas (Latin for “faithfulness”) is the St. Paul’s ministry for couples who are preparing for or have received the sacrament of Holy Matrimony. Our mission is to support each other in this critical stage in our lives, to support each other in upholding our call to marriage, and to reach out as married couples to others to bring them into our Christian family. Past events have included social hours at local bars and restaurants; a discussion of The Five Love Languages by Gary Chapman; summer picnics; bowling; a financial planning seminar led by Fr. Randall McQuin, a certified financial planner; and a joint discussion with Carpe Deum on Christian stewardship.

Women’s Group

The Women’s Group is a forum for women of faith to gather for fellowship. Meetings are used to study religious topics of mutual interest, to explore our shared beliefs and differences, and to provide one another encouragement and support. For more information, contact Ann Schnorrenberg: aschnorrenberg@comcast.net or 301-907-3456, home; or Anne T. Windle: anne.windle@montgomerycountymd.gov or 202-338-0178, home.

Tuesday Morning Fellowship

The Fellowship meets on the first Tuesdays of each month, at 10:00 to 11:30 am in the Carwithen Parlor. We are an informal gathering for fellowship as in Acts 2:42: “They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers.” Coffee, tea and snacks are served.  All are welcome!  There is no planned program, just come, visit with one another, and enjoy fun, food, and fellowship. Contact: Linda Wilkinson at ljwilkinson2@gmail.com or CB Wooldridge at 202-338-1597.
