Middle East Missions

Working through the American Friends of the Episcopal Diocese of Jerusalem, St. Paul's supports two of the humanitarian institutions of the Diocese:

St. Saviour's School in Zarka, Jordan, is located in an industrial suburb of Amman. It offers an academically rigorous K-12 education to about 350 students—boys and girls, Muslims and Christians, sighted and blind. St. Paul’s Parish supports the need-based scholarships given to 25 percent of the students as well as classroom renovation and equipment.

The al Ahli Arab Hospital in Gaza serves vulnerable people in the Gaza Strip where 1.5 million Palestinians live under Israel’s continuing blockade. The hospital treats 41,000 outpatients and 4,700 inpatients annually and offers special programs to meet the needs of the most vulnerable, including elderly women and malnourished children.  It serves all in need regardless of religion or ability to pay.
