The history of the Anglican Communion since the Oxford Movement (the nineteenth-century Catholic revival within the Anglican Church) has seen the formation of a number of devotional societies—groups that seek to bear witness to particular doctrines regarded as neglected or misunderstood. Members of these societies pledge to pray daily for the objectives of the group. At St. Paul’s, we have members who are affiliated with these groups, which characterize the rich aspect of the Catholic tradition within Anglicanism.
